Medical students at the University of Melbourne have the option to undertake a voluntary clinical elective, allowing them to explore an unfamiliar area or setting of clinical medicine and broaden their understanding of health care. Students often take this opportunity to learn about a specialist field that interests them while travelling interstate or overseas at the same time.
